MUSCAT: The Ministry of Information has announced that nominations for participation in the 2026 Media Excellence Competition will open on Wednesday (today) and continue until May 31. The competition aims to stimulate national cadres towards media creativity and innovation, while raising professional quality standards within media institutions.
The competition also seeks to highlight national media talents and recognise their achievements, foster a spirit of positive competition among media institutions and individuals, support digital media and electronic content creation, and contribute to the documentation of winning works.

In Radio, the competition includes talk programmes, family programmes, radio dramas and cultural programmes.
Television categories comprise talk programmes, sports programmes, variety shows, documentary programmes and films, children's programmes and governorate reports.
